Ingredient Spotlight - Raw Cacao
Cacao (pronounced ka-cow) is the raw, unprocessed chocolate superfood that should be on everyone's skin. It's possibly one of the greatest gifts of nature for anti-aging and protection from oxidation due to its high measured antioxidant (ORAC) capacity. Raw cacao refers to the cacao beans and tree that provide the pods used to make chocolate. It has undergone minimal processing, but much of the natural fat found in cacao beans, the cocoa butter, is removed, so the powder is relatively low in fat.
