What is raw honey?
Used by ancient cultures, honey has had a valued place in traditional medicine for centuries. The use of this magical ingredient can be traced back as far as 8000 years ago.
Raw honey is best described as, “as it exists in the beehive”, extracted from the beehive, strained and poured into the container without the use of commercial processing methods.
Why do you need raw honey in your beauty ritual?
A natural humectant, rich in antioxidants, live enzymes, amino acids and phytochemical compounds, honey speeds up healing and regeneration of skin tissue and helps the skin retain moisture. Its antibiotic and anti-inflammatory properties are especially beneficial for sensitive and acne-prone complexions!
In our formulations we use raw Melaleuca honey that is made from the Melaleuca trees located in the Florida everglades. Originally from Australia, Melaleuca is more commonly known as tea tree, and is related to the Manuka tree. Manuka honey and Melaleuca honey contain many of the same topical properties and their therapeutic phenolic acids are very similar.
